WorkSpace is delighted to have recently implemented a significant solar energy initiative with the addition of 535 photovoltaic (PV) panels across our head offices in Belfast and Glasgow. The installation - comprising 295 panels in Belfast and 240 in Glasgow - will generate up to 50% of the electricity required to power our offices, substantially reducing our reliance on grid electricity and lowering our carbon footprint.
The initiative is projected to save approximately 115 tonnes of CO₂e annually, reinforcing our commitment to sustainable business practices and aligning with the McLaughlin & Harvey Group’s overarching decarbonisation strategy. Furthermore, it complements our 2024 commitment to sourcing 100% REGO-backed renewable energy across all WorkSpace sites and offices, strengthening our efforts to achieve Net Zero operational emissions by 2030.
As a business, we remain focused on identifying and implementing innovative solutions that enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact. This investment in solar energy is a big step in our proactive approach to building a more sustainable future for our company, clients, and the communities in which we operate.
“This initiative represents a major step forward in the McLaughlin & Harvey Group’s journey towards net zero. By integrating PV panels across our head offices and committing to 100% REGO-backed renewable energy, we demonstrate industry leadership in reducing operational emissions and embracing sustainable energy solutions”
