Our furniture team installed a range of loose furniture for both meeting rooms and social spaces – including tables, chairs and comfortable sofas - inside the new £7.8m state-of-the-art community hub in Belfast.
Led by Belfast city council, the project forms part of the European Union’s PEACE IV programme, which aims to create a more cohesive society through an increased provision of shared spaces and services.
The Shankill Women's Leisure Centre offers a welcoming, safe and accessible shared space for women and their families from all communities, and it is one of three PEACE IV shared space projects in Belfast.
Since 1987, the team at Shankill Women’s Centre have provided childcare, education, training, health awareness and other activities for women in the Greater Shankill area and beyond. The new building will be shared with Clonard Womens Group, who will work together with the Shankill team to support even more women across a broader geographical area, as well as expand upon the services and activities that they offer.
“We are proud to have delivered this furniture project which will support Shankill Shared Women's Centre in their objectives. Allowing them to expand their services and activities to help more local women, enabling users to comfortably network and undertake classes and courses. This project reinforces our commitment to supporting the local communities in which we work.”
