WorkSpace has successfully completed essential upgrade works at the Gannochy Lecture Theatre, located within the University of Dundee’s Medical School at Ninewells Hospital.
The project included replacing condemned attic walkways, installing new handrails and ladders, and upgrading lighting and data services. The enhancements have restored safe access to attic-level electrical systems and improved the overall environment of the lecture theatre for both students and staff.
To ensure the project was completed safely in the midst of a busy hospital and university campus, our team carefully planned the work to minimise disruption. Our value-engineered scaffolding solution significantly reduced the amount of birdcage scaffold required inside the theatre, which not only minimised disruption but also saved the client nearly £37,000.
In addition to the technical delivery, we actively supported the local community by donating surplus canteen goods to NHS Tayside’s Volunteering Service and participating in a charity golf day to benefit The Archie Foundation.
The project received high praise from the University’s Estates team for its quality outcome and the smooth execution in a challenging live environment.
